Tourism

The Rendezvous Region Tourism Council (RRTC) was re-established in 2016 to seize opportunities of tourism and destination development to attract upon the 1.2 million people within a two-hour drive. Northeastern North Dakota has access to more population density (potential customers) than any other area of the state with our Canadian neighbors. Building upon efforts initiated 25 years ago, the Rendezvous Region has been expanded from four small towns to three counties and has been strengthened by financial support of three county job development authorities as founding members and enlisting more than 110 private and public members.

The region as a whole has seen population growth in the millennial age bracket and together, we can attract more millennials as they comprise 70% of today’s overnight guests. We are one region attracting and serving outdoor enthusiasts, visitors, shopping, and possible future residents.

The Rendezvous Region includes the Pembina Gorge which has the only white water kayaking and mountain bike terrain park in ND, downhill skiing/tubing/snowboarding at Frost Fire Park, more than 20 miles of multi-use trails, fossil digs and 12,000 acres of forested land. The region also includes hundreds of miles of snowmobile trails, dirt biking, seven golf courses, hunting, a historic geocaching trail, cultural festivals and more.
