The Red River Regional Council approved a $200,000 Catalyst Fund loan to Harvest Fuels of Walhalla. This investment has been matched by the ND Development Fund and owner equity, and will be used for working capital and to support the company’s expanding markets. The company has been developing and selling a variety of cattle and equine nutritional products in the form of lick blocks.
Chairman of the Board, Bob Thornberg states, “We are so fortunate in North Dakota to have statewide and regional development support groups such as the Red River Regional Council and the ND Development Fund. Timely support can be particularly important. Dawn and the crew at the Red River Council have taken a leadership role in both understanding that component by both adding a unique moral support to the financial support and also working adeptly with other agencies to expand the scope of that support. We at Harvest Fuel / SweetPro Feeds are grateful beneficiaries.”
Brian Opp of the NDDF states, “The North Dakota Development Fund is pleased to partner with the Red River Regional Council to provide financing for Harvest Fuels. Together, we are building a more resilient and diversified North Dakota economy while helping communities and businesses thrive.”
This partnership underscores how regional and statewide financing tools can help an established ag-based manufacturer like Harvest Fuels scale production, reach new markets, and continue creating value in rural North Dakota.
