Future Regional Business and Community Innovation Center coming to downtown Grafton
Big things are happening in downtown Grafton! Construction kicks off in March at The Reyleck (pronounced “relic”), a new regional business and community innovation center designed to spark creativity and support entrepreneurs across northeastern North Dakota. With a $2.6 million renovation budget approved by the Red River Regional Council (RRRC) Board of Directors on February 11, The Reyleck is set to open its doors in early 2027.
“We thrilled to get to the construction stage for this long-awaited project for our region,” said Dawn Mandt, Executive Director of the RRRRC. “We are fortunate to secure 88% of our construction budget, have a strong and talented project team that worked hard to simplify the design to become more flexible for future users and is more cost effective.”
What makes The Reyleck special? This dynamic space will feature a licensed commercial kitchen—perfect for food startups, caterers, and culinary innovators. Flexible co-working areas, private offices, and conference rooms equipped with video conference systems will make it easy to collaborate, connect, and grow. Retail storefronts will be available to host pop-up shops and markets, while a spacious event area will feature workshops, seminars, and community gatherings for up to 100 guests. Programming will include a community-centric focus that welcomes visitors, newcomers, and long-term residents alike and nurtures a sense of belonging.
The Reyleck will also become the new home of the RRRC, bringing expert support for business and community development right to Main Street. Thanks to a $1.6 million grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration, and generous backing from local partners including the Walsh County JDA, City of Grafton, Marvin, Polar Communications, and the U.S. Bank Foundation. The RRRC was recently awarded a $500,000 North Dakota Rural Catalyst Grant by the ND Department of Commerce to support construction.
Located at 532 Hill Avenue, Grafton, The Reyleck is more than a building—it’s a launchpad for ideas, a gathering place for creators, and a resource for anyone ready to make their mark. It’s a hub to connect with the entire northeastern region.
